I have been looking at both Cubase 2 and Sonar 3 producer and am looking for some comments from users of both.

I am starting to get the hang of Cubase though from what i have seen Sonar is more intuitive. Apart from any subjectives differences is there one that is better than the other or are they both much the same performance wise ?

Again i know this might be a subjective question but i just thought i would throw it out there.

Sonar 3 you won't be able to get much longer, as Sonar 4 is coming. With Sonar 4 having huge improvements.

That said, performance, sound quality and all that, they run pretty neck-n-neck. They both get the job done so it comes down to personal preference. I prefer Sonar.

Cubase 2 - da bomb.

I loves it..top app. Good quality and it "looks" nice tae (tho that doesnt make much odds!).

Down to what ya prefer..get demos for both and try em - whichever one ya prefer is the best one for you bud.

I'm with Coco, The sound quality from everything I hear are as dB puts it "neck in neck". I've got Cubase SX. Started with Cubasis and stayed with the line of products. The VST plugs are top, but then many apps. will use them. But bottom line ya gotta be able to work with the app and hopefully enjoy it. Quite frankly I do not use SX to it's fullest potential. I do nothing in midi beyond a control surface. I do however like the wave editing functions, and I use the score editor as well. I am a little concerned about Pinnacle owning Stienberg however. I looked at Wavelab 5 and it is really highlighting video capabilities. That I am not interested in at least at this point. Hefty price tag of $599.00 US for something that seems to be going the oppisite direction of what I want.

Again bottom line, what you like.

Hey Bleak...

Cubase AND Sonar are both good apps..there's only ONE good fitba team in Edinburgh bud!! hehe...The Hibs!!

As I say, try em both. I personally like Cubase SX and I tried Sonar 2.2 - prefered Cubase - depends on what you want/need I guess and most of all, what ya like.

Good luck anyways.

Coco.
