went junk-shop shopping yesterday and picked up an old RCA vinyl entitled 'demonstration and sound effects'. its dated 1970, and was used as a demonstration of how cool stereo is.

cost me £3 and its got recordings of old 1950s race cars going from right to left, the sound of fire engines, trees being chopped down bullfights and all kinds of weird stuff.

best of all is the sounds of tanks and guns being fired...great percussive sounds there

anyone else ever heard one of these things? theyre great!

Never heard of one those albums in particular, but it sounds very cool. What would also be neat is if you found one that demonstrated quadrophonic. Record that to your PC and remix it for surround :-)

Well, the line in jack (which your laptop may or may not have) should be in stereo as long as you have a 3-conductor cable to that little 1/8" jack...like a mini TRS jack. The mic in jack however would be mono.

I got some of them flame. stored for posterity. they aer antiques now and in int condition. only been played once each. I should get em out and record em to CD so I can use em. Anyway, tops find as they are very kool to use like dB said for the percusive sounds and such.
