EMU 0404 anyone?

Hi im new to home recording and have cubase sx2.
I was having problems with latency with my soundblaster and upgraded to an EMU0404.
Now I cant record into cubase and what I recorded before installing the card plays back crackly.
Anyone have any idea of what I can do?

try updating windows, disabling old drivers from soundblaster and selecting the new sound card in cubase. Dont really know the sound card or cubase though so I am probably not the one to help you. I know that with my sound card if you dont update windows there is a problem with crackling.

Ok cool, i'm unable to do that myself cos i'm useless with PCs at the moment but I have someone coming round to do that for me.
