Hey Folks,
I am using a Delta 44 and when I am singing I want to be able to hear some reverb. Is there a way to use my PC as an effects processor or do I need to invest in a rack module? If there is a way to do it, will it work inside Sonar?

Nov 03, 2002 09:42 pm Yes, that is possible. But first I need to know what software you are using to record with? And second, how fast of a PC do you have, and how much RAM? These are all important in recomending what and how you can do it.
Nov 04, 2002 01:14 am I am using Sonar 2.0. I have an Athlon XP with 512 MB of ram.

Nov 04, 2002 08:54 am n-track studio has a "live" option, but ull need pretty good ram and soundcard for it to be of good use coz the delay for mine is massive!

Nov 04, 2002 06:10 pm OK, all you need to do is open your mixer view, assign an effect to aux. 1 buss. Then assign the send on each channel of audio you want to hear the reverb on, and bring it's level up a bit. Make sure you have the return level on the main aux. 1 buss up a bit also. then adjust to the desired level.
Remember that as you add more reverb, this also add's some gain to the overall mix. So be carefull to keep adjusting your level's so you don't clip the main output, or you will get some distortion. If you need a little more help on this let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Nov 04, 2002 11:05 pm Hey Noize2u,
Ok, I did it and it is working. Thanks! Now, how do I get rid of the delay between when I sing and when it actually comes through?
Nov 05, 2002 05:30 am Now it is time to play with buffer settings and such in the audio device control panel. What you are dealing with there is latency.
With the size PC you have you should be able to knock that delay down to almost nothing...

Nov 05, 2002 08:43 pm And you also have the option of going into the Delta control panel and setting the ouptut to the what you hear setting, and this will give you what they call zero latency monitering. It is really just their way of cheating the sytem, but it work's most of the time.
