An outburst for perfection

Hi all,
I'm after a plugin that gives me pitch control without changing the time.
I want it to change lead Guitar 2 bass Guitar.
I've got loads of plugins but I don't like to load em all in, I may already have something that'll work, but hopefully someone can save me some time.
Even a program with it already in will do, like sound forge.
Thanks,
M

Aug 22, 2004 03:04 pm seeing you got Sonar
It's do-able om there
just rightclick on the audiofile than Cakewalk Effects -> Time/ Pitch shift
If you only adjust the pitch the time won't shift

If you can, try to borrow a real bass from someone. You'll thank me later.
As a bass player, I like to try pitch shift type effects to see how they sound. I've found that even the ones that are close (let's forget about the ones with bad tracking...lots of those) don't carry the depth of the string vibration you'd find on a bass. There's been just one time I've been fooled, and that was a Richard Thompson song where he'd simply tuned down the E string really low (on the "Industry" album). That was on an acoustic guitar with serious mics and pres, and an album filled with real upright bass sounds.
The clarity and string articulation really is lost on emulators. At mix time, you really notice the difference.
