I got the VST plugin bug. Remixed "Nocturne for Insomniacs" with better 'amps' this time. You can actually *hear* the guitars during the verse now hahahahaha
Anyways, enjoy. ;)

Update: Here's the link to the old version:

Just listened to the 2 versions now...

What a difference. Guitar is louder, brighter and better. I think you have played it a wee bit better tae! I know it sounds odd but its a cooler version I thinks...

Aye - good job Tincan. The joy of VST and the other joy of VST over the modeller is you can double track with 2 different sounds for the one piece. Change amps etc with nae hassle.

Good job mate. I like this song, I like it more now :-)

In all honesty, I didn't actually record any new tracks for this. I just applied the plug-ins and brought the guitar sound up into its own space. When I hear the original, I think the playing sounds better on the new one too. The better quality makes it easier to hear and enjoy, and I guess the mind allows the recording quality to effect the perceived quality of the performance.

Thanks for taking a listen, and for your comments!

Hi Hue! Well, I miked the top at about 18 inches above with an Oktava mk012, and had my sm57 about 8 inches from the bottom. Also I had a small towel blocking part of the bottom hole just to keep some boominess out of the signal. Hey, thanks for the listen, man.
