using cass. mulit. rec. as my preamp

I want to record my guitars using this method: guitar into Digitech rp100 > into Fostex cass. multi. recorder > into mic input in comp.

Will the Fostex give me the same basic results as a preamp? And if I want to use Amplitube/Izotope, can I use a "clean" setting on my rp100 so that I may use the effects in the plug ins? For example. I want a crunchy sound from my Amplitube.. so I would record the guitar using my rp100 clean tone, and then processing it with the effect I want. Is this the best way?

Hmmm...I think you'd do well to check out a Behringer V-Amp. You could get the optional footswitch and it could replace your digitech. There's one with the case and pedal on ebay ending in 24 minutes and it's at $79. Looks like the digitechs are going for around $50.

IF you want to use the pre amps on the fostex, dont bother with the rp50 as well.

The tone from the pre's on the fostex will be clean anyway. Just use this, straight into Amplitube and get the tone there.

I second the VAMP2 - I have both Amplitube and VAMP2 - both great but I canny take Amplitube to a gig!!

Good luck

Coco.
