I have an Alesis HD 24. I have the proper settings (IP Address/Gateway)and the proper xover network cable. And even though the green light is on by the Ethernet port and the orange activity light blinks when I try to connect...it wont connect. It happened both in Internet Explorer and FTP Voyager. FTP Voyager gives me an error message:"Socket Error"
Its a brand new computer thats never been or will be hookedup to the Internet. Im only running a few music programs such as Acid, Cool Edit Pro and Sound Forge and...you get the idea.
Also the HD24 freezes up sometimes when trying to exit FTP Server mode. I looked in the manual and checked everything over and over...
And of course Alesls support in the east is closed today.
Thanking anyone in advance for any feedback that might help

Hmmmm, I thought I answered this one once, but alas gone! Autologout I guess.

That is wild. I used the suggested settings in the Alesis manual and have no problem at all. I do use Core FPT and Max FPT (both freeware) however. I am especially concerned about the freezing of the Alesis exiting server mode. This should not be. Almost sounds like a hardware problem in the HD24.

Wish I could help more. All I gots.
