Im using cubase sx, master in wave lab. after I burn to cd my volume is not as loud as a normal CD. I know I can increase volume and normalize in wavelab but sometimes it is distorted. If anyone has the same equipment and they can give me some tips that would be great.....................

Normalizing is good, but it only moves your highest peak to zero. Does wave lab have anything called a Peak limiter. I use this feature on the Alesis Master Link and it's fabulous. I could nail my whole mix to zero if I wanted. I have to be careful not to get it to loud. It allows me to bring the valleys closer to the peaks which are at zero. I've heard other people with pcs that can't get their mix hot enough. I'm not quite sure why.

WaveLab has a limiter, a compressor and a normalizer...for that matter, it's time for lunch, WaveLab just made me a peanut butter sandwich.

Aye...you can also get some freebie VST's which will do the compression job which will raise volume "on the fly" as well as leveling oot the whole thing.

I personally use Sound Forge which has great tools with a maximiser/compressor just for the job. Trouble is - it costs the bucks. But, Wavelab does a gid job tae (im planning on gettin that real soon).

Normalizing was what I done when I started. Trouble is, you can get some clipping with the normalizing plug ins if yer no careful.
