I updated my Delta drivers and got an issue. My Delta control panel no longer controls the volume of my 1010. I have to go in Windows control panel to lower the volume. I have already sharted (ask me later what that means!) in my pants about 4 times when it resets itself and comes on full blast!! Wondering if anybody else had this problem.

I was using the 36 drivers on my 1010lt, but had a few dropouts with > 6 channels, so i went back to .27. Can't say I had a problem with the volumes, but I may not have noticed.

Just thinking again, I may have had the main volume in the LT control panel on full. Also, doesn't the WDM and ASIO drivers control differently how the sound card gets controlled? Like, one driver controls both, while the other driver lets you control each seperately?

Report this to M-Audio. They update their drivers frequently thanks to lots of input from users, and they may already know of this issue and either be working on the next version to fix it, or have a fix for it already...

It's totally weird and I'm about to strangle someone. Delta's control panel does not control it at all. I've contacted M-Audio but haven't got a response yet. I can control the outputs through windows control panel but can't do nothing with the inputs. I have to record on Saturday!! AHHH!

I'm just going to take a stab at this but maybe I don't understand what you are trying to do. First, The Delta control panel doesn't control input volume at all. You have to use some type of mixer or preamp ahead of the input to attenuate ith signal. The control panel does control the output of each channel. You should be able to save a certain setup though. I haven't DL'd the latest drivers yet so I'm not sure if they are set to "reset" themselves to a default or not, but like I said, You should be able to save your settings.

Blessings, Terry

Just got off the phone with M-Audio's tech support. They were saying the samething which I do understand, it was just hard to explain it to him since I wasn't in front of my system here at work.

I know it doesn't actually control the input volume, but it does control the output volume. That's what isn't working, just Windows control panel is controling that. In the routing section of the control panel, I have had the 1/2 outputs set to monitor mixer, now when I switch to that, I get nothing. I have to keep it on Wav1/2 like default and only be able to control the volume by selecting wav1/2 through windows control panel. Does that make sense? It's hard to explain.

Wait a minute, if this works everyone here is going to think I'm totally stupid for missing this. The new driver is called "web" and then the version number. Hmmm, have to be on the web in order to install it? You would think it would tell you that, I'm going to try that when I get home. I haven't been installing it and on the web at the same time since I'm dialup at home :(

Just to give an update. I got my Delta 1010 to work now. Just to give a pointer incase this happens to anyone else, naturally new drivers will reset your settings. My problem was that the new drivers changed the way my Delta 1010 work completely when it came to routing. I used to leave mine on 1/2 outs being monitor mixer and I could hear everything. Everything in Windows and whatever I had in the inputs. Now, I have to leave it on Wavout1 on the outputs 1/2 to hear anything in Windows, and Windows Audio control panel controls the overall volume on that. Switch it to monitor mixer when I want to hear my inputs. Makes sense really. M-Audio emailed me and said to reinstall my DirectX to see if that will help any. I'm going to try that to see if that changes anything. Thanks for everyone that took a stab at this, just my stupidity!

Sorry to drag this post back from 2004, but I'm struggling to find anything else about this on the net.

I've just upgraded both m/board and cpu, and now my Delta 1010 Monitor Mixer is displaying the same problem.

Basically, it seems the monitor mixer is now disabled on the output side...

What's weird is that it works in every other way...

Anyone got any ideas? I'm really gonna miss that volume control...

Have you donwloaded the most current driver update from M-Audio?

www.m-audio.com/index.php...&OS=72#tabs

This is assuming you are using Windows XP with SP3 installed.

If not just redo the search for whatever version of Windows you are using and you be able to download the latest set up.
