Jul 16, 2004 10:27 am Hey willum, thanks. Haven't seen you around much, I have had to resort to going to your forum to raise hell :)
Go back in to the pro section and see the cool new feature I added back there :-)
Jul 16, 2004 01:18 pm Aye..thumbs up here tae.
Keep up the gid work and new ideas...keeps it fresh!
Coco.
Jul 16, 2004 01:19 pm Hey DB
Just had a wee thought. In light of the MASSIVE discussion we had last week (started by myself - spawned a monster thread) aboot the Dukes - how aboot a Hazzard theme, complete with the rebel flag and some dukes samples (joke) hehehhe...
I claim the General Lee for ma avatar!

Jul 16, 2004 03:20 pm You gettin Daisy for a maid?!?!?!
Jul 16, 2004 08:35 pm here's an idea, something to consider down the road maybe...
i sometimes visit this music theory forum and on there they have a little icon that is either darkened or lit up to show whether you are currently online/logged in or not.
it is quite cool. i'm just not sure what actual use it has.
Jul 17, 2004 04:10 am Pleeeease... no more Dukes or I'll have to find an all girls recording connection. The ability to upload our own Avatar would be neat, say 120x120 DB?
Jul 17, 2004 05:31 am HRC Pro can have their own avatars...but stil 45x45. HRC Pro has lots of neato features.
The online/offline thing is something I actually have on the "think about" list.
Jul 17, 2004 05:38 am Hey Chick...The Dukes are waaaaaay cool!
I dunno - its so funny - witty and loadsa car chasing. I dunno how any girl wouldny like that :-) !!
Coco.
YEeeeeeeeehawww!
Jul 17, 2004 06:10 am I whiped up a quick little dukes theme for ya, not much, but best I could doon short notice. :-)
Jul 17, 2004 06:15 am DB..that is..nothing short of...
BLOODY FANTASTIC!!!
Hey...this is like heaven in fact!! I can almost hear the song! Again - thats service for ya (and I would say DB, its the best theme so far).
The "HRC General Lee" was a very nice touch!
If these themes are just for the pro guys - everyone else - GO PRO!! Tis gid for sure - any yi get yer ain avatar! Fantastic.
Coco.
Jul 17, 2004 06:18 am no, themes are for everyone.
When I made pro I was going to pull it back as a pro feature, but I thought taking anything away from non-pro members would be kinda lame, so I left it.
Glad you like it, I tried to find decent pics of Daisy and the boys, but none were that good...I have a good rebel flag, but background images were not cooperating. I will work on the theme from time to time. I have a couple others I am wanting to do to, but then, well, I have some bass to record for ya too...plus the next version of my CMS is getting close to ready and I wanna finish that up too.
::sigh:: so much to do...
Jul 17, 2004 06:26 am DB..I now see why you get up at 6am your time!!
Man, you are a busy dude! But - many talents!
As for your CMS, I'll have some of that when its done. Its a great system. I plan on rewriting one my websites using your CMS (a personal football site I run)...it will be better than the legacy code I used when I first threw it together.
Aye - keep it up DB...tis good work. RE: The bass - myself and Guitar Jim are lookin forward to that for the final mix. Hopefully I can do it all justice...we shall see :-D
Think it was a good idea to make themes for all too - very good idea. But, for all non-pro users - STILL GO PRO!
Cheers...
Coco.
Jul 17, 2004 06:43 am The new CMS has a message forum, commenting on news articles (so it's more like a blogger), user registration and a bunch more. It has been a butt-load of work, but I use it a lot, many, many clients of mine like it so I just design the skin for it and they do the rest via the admin tool. Security has been beefed up in it, the security hole I found in HRC I originally found in the CMS, so I had to plug up both.
Ya, I am a busy person. I have my hand in way too many projects at once...I've always been that way...it's stupid, but I always do it.
Glad people enjoy the fruits of my labor, cuz I sure don't have time to sometimes...
Jul 17, 2004 09:37 am Yep - well - I can state unbiased and truthfully that the CMS is a great achievement. It is a great tool and a creidt to yourself, as well as the fact the system is free...
I am contemplating re-doing another of my personal sites using the system. I think I would need to alter the style sheet tho. Is your new CMS loaded with the "liquid" design as per HRC?? Thats cool too - I prefer the liquid approach myself so its been good to see it here.
Aye - keep up the good work and rockin tae (most importantly!).
Coco.
Jul 17, 2004 10:02 am As of right now, no, it is not liquid, but it will be before release of the new version, in at least some of the themes.
I didn't prefer the liquid aproach myself from a developer standpoint pre-CSS days. Before style sheets existed (yup, I'm that old and been doing it that long) it was very problematic getting things to hold size properly. With CSS there are still problems, but not nearly like it was back in the day...
Thanks for the props, I feel it's a cool accomplishment as well, I am quite proud of it (if I may be so bold), especially the new forum module. The forum in the CMS is much more streamlined and efficient than the forum I have here at HRC. The user would hardly notice, but I do from a back-end view. I've learned a lot while building it :-) At some point I hope to work some of the features of the CMS's forum into HRC, but I only have 24 hours in a day, and I can't program my way around that limitation.
Jul 17, 2004 10:37 am oh my god this dukes theme is hilarious. love it!

Just found the "quote button" - check out the UBB Code Instructions at the foot of your post beside the smileys :-)
You can also use REALLY BIG text should you so desire!!

Jul 19, 2004 10:59 am Hey guys, I'm back from vacation :)
Wow... I didn't expect this when I got back...
I hate to sound negative, but I don't really like the new look from an asthetic perspective, the top of the page, in particular. All the little additions and stuff are cool though, of course.
Jul 19, 2004 12:26 pm Asthetics was not the goal of the redesign...
Jul 19, 2004 09:19 pm Sorry... I'm very visually oriented.
