Using Aux sends with monitor speakers

Is this possible??? I haven't tried it yet so I'm not sure and I don't want to buy a new cable and find out it doesn't.

I am using a Delta 44 with a Yamaha MG 12/4 and we are currently recording vocals for a band. I want to be able to monitor the vocals (for the singer) and for some stupid reason Cool Edit Pro doesn't support this??? I'm used to my old soundblaster where I could just use the "What you hear" thing...

Anyway, this may be hard to explain but I think I want to use input 1 for the vocal microphone, then use something like input 9/10 for the output of the delta. Then use the group bus 1-2 as the outputs to go into the inputs 1/2 of the delta. Then, since I don't have a seperate control room, I would want to turn down the monitors everytime we record and just have it though headphones, therefore the only option I see is the Aux sends for the speakers. Then I can turn it up and down as we go with a single knob.

Has anyone tried this??? Will this work ?? and sorry for confusing people.

Sorry, I guess I never saw this post, odds are the aux sends are mono if they are each only a single jack...check the manual, it'll tell you.
