Its called "The Hill" and can be found on my site- in the "Dead End" section of my music page.
members.cox.net/tonyd1970/music (about half way down)
EDIT: The words are now posted in this thread
The Highs- got a good acoustic guitar sound. its direct plug in, sm57, and cheezy pc mic all at once.
The Lows- the rest, went "old flame-ish" with some of the vox, its ok but im no flame.
The song is about being annoyed with blending in, and wanting to blend in, and seeing everyone else trying to blend in. So the character burns his old music and goes indie. Haahahha
So give a listen if you have time...

Jun 11, 2004 08:43 am the Vox sound Okay to me
it just sounds a bit bass heavy
Could be my headphones though but even than..
the guitar it selfs sound good
only on the right side I get some buzz or clipping or something don't really know what it is
Nice tune overall Like the vox singing thru eachother

Jun 11, 2004 09:05 am Hahaha, glad you liked the movies- my other little hobbie. btw- thats Crash as the Admiral in the Tranquility video, the rest is me. hookay.....
There is a bass in there, and i did clip a little on the vox (recorded too hot) I might give it another vocal go round tonight and see what happens.
thanks for the listen-

Jun 11, 2004 09:07 am I think the sound of this song is pretty cool. I love the lyrical theme! However... is that you buzzing out of my wimpy pc speaker? Yer befuddlin' me something fierce, now. The booming, buzzing effect actually sounded pretty cool with the opening notes on the bass or detuned guitar... but then it kept going, and it started interfering with enjoyment and making it hard to hear the song clearly.
Sooo... what is the instrument that starts the song, a bass or a guitar? Also... do you have the lyrics handy to post? I'd like to read them if it's not too much trouble.
For some reason, this song really put me in the mood to hear some Tom Waits. Luckily I have some right here... :)

Jun 11, 2004 09:10 am I think the overdriven bits of that song may be a lot more pronounced on my little pc speaker here... I'll have to check this out at home this weekend.
Come Sunday/Monday, I may have a new song to post, myself... maybe... maybe... I've been doing a lot of tracking, retracking, retracking again to get this thing done... I've been musically silent too long now! hahaha

Jun 11, 2004 09:19 am The Hill- A C G D / ch-B G Emaj
Woke up, up on the hill
of trees that had been calling out
burned old words, i'd had my fill
in the places of the falling out
there i stood, my eyes held wide
forest in the silent night
last pages in a life i cant hide
from the flames in my site
and i know where the rivers go
down the hills so easy
and i know what they dont know
they bend and blend so easy
losing thier ties and thier beginnings
one with others became them all, became them all
becoming a sea thats not ending
its a lack of vision through it all, through it all
but up here on the hill
with the trees all calling out
my fire burns my old will
washing in a stream of doubt
and here i stand words still burning
forced to start again reaching yearning
just for something to keep on learning
and those old words are still burning burning
im sure theres some adlibs in there to but its close
and Crash turned me on to tom waits a while back. Great stuff
oh ya, the bass and the guitar start at the same time i think.
