have turntable plugged into mackie mixing board but dont have enough signal coming from ceramic cartridge. I believe what i need is a phono pre amp--these were readily available in the past but not so any more. does anyone know a website I can go to that may sell such an item ? (radio shack doesn't have them anymore) thanks

Oct 08, 2002 07:20 am are you grounding the turntable? I knowa little preamp comes with Steinberg Clean, at least one of the versions used to have one. You can see about this app at www.steinberg.net/ and maybe inquire if they sell them independently.
Other than that, I can't even remember the last time I saw one.

Oct 09, 2002 09:15 pm Yup, you gotta have a phono pre-amp to run the turntable through your mixer. I went out and and picked up a cheap DJ mixer for about $50.00 US. It has 2 very nice phono pre's in it.
And my Radio shack up here still has regular phono pre's.
