This is what I've been doing for the past couple of days. This is another on the edge (I hope anyway, heh...). This a rough work recording and I'd sure appreciate any feedback before I start the next phase (rewrite, rehash, etc). I hope I have the vocals up enough on this one.

Thanks in advance!

Hi CompSem, I can just barely hear the vocals. I had to listen again just to make sure that what I was hearing was vocals at all... The rest of the song is pretty interesting as an instrumental, though I'd love to hear you add a cool solo in there, personally speaking. I find it appealing that you are using rock instruments in a mood-setting, dramatic manner here, without a lot of rock influence - I just thought that the industrial feel of it was pretty neat.

One thing I did notice on my second listen it seems like you are trying to keep the listener in a state of suspense throughout the song - swelling strings, march-style drumbeat, etc. The guitar as well - it seemed very steady and somewhat unchanging in emotional charge.

Personally speaking, I find that songs speak to me more when there's more of an ebb and flow - build up to your strong part to give it emphasis, wind it down to just a couple of instruments playing softly for an introspective feel or something similar... But that's just me talking, and maybe that's not the effect you are going for with your music. I mean, we do play very different styles, so maybe that's what you're going for.

Overall I like the song, and I'm looking forward to hearing the finished version!

The fat one always watches us.

I heard the vox just fine. im listening on headphones though. I really liked it. the music is super. I think it would make a good "teen has problems fitting in-in highschool" sound track tune.... good work comp
