I just came back from Sam Ash,I will be heading back there later on tonight with my brother.I seen the Audiophile 2496(I think thats the name)for 120.00 and KRK V8 Powered Monitor Pair for 200.i read the great reviews for the Monitors and Soundcard And I think thats the route I will be going. Now Mind you im new to quality but not new to making beats.I took my music to the studio and played it in the cd player it sounded like poo poo over studio monitors but I thought they we sounding good thru my SBlive and creative speakers lol

1)Will these monitors be good enough to mixdown my beats and take them back to the same studio and not get looked at funny?

2)What the heck is so special about Pro Tools and Why MUST I have the program if a enginner that knows how to use it is at the studio already.Cant I just save the wav files of my beats and cant they load it into pro tools?

3)Will I have enough ins/outs for Studio Monitiors(Pair)Mic,Pre Amp,Mixer

4)Or should I go With a mixer with phantom power?

This is a great and fantastic board and I hope you guys/gals can help with these questions, thank you all so much .Peace

darn well should be. Most of getting good mixes is getting to know your monitor as much as the quality of the monitors themselves, as well as the sound of the room you are mixing in

2)What the heck is so special about Pro Tools and Why MUST I have the program if a enginner that knows how to use it is at the studio already.Cant I just save the wav files of my beats and cant they load it into pro tools?

The only thing proTools has is the fact, at the moment ist is industry standard between pro facilities. The sound that comes out of it is no better than Cubase, Sonar, Vegas or any other pro-level app. It reproduces the sound you record with it.

3)Will I have enough ins/outs for Studio Monitiors(Pair)Mic,Pre Amp,Mixer

the audiophile has two analog ins and two analog outs, digital ins and outs and MIDI ins at outs...it's for a one-man band, or can record up to two instruments (in mono) at the same time.

4)Or should I go With a mixer with phantom power?

If you use condensor mics, yes

as far as number 2 goes... Pro tools is a great app and most pro studios have it, but other apps can do it for less money.

If an engineer told you he wouldn't touch your beats unless you had them on pro tools then he was either lazy or doesn't know how to use his PT rig. Yes, you can fly your beats into pro tools if they are saved as .wav files.

If your mic pre has phantom power on it, you don't necessarily need a mixer, but mixer's can come in handy so it doesn't hurt to have one.

If you use pro tools, it will be easier to bring your beats into a pro studio that is using pro tools. What is the goal of bringing the beat to the studio. Are you expecting to lay vocals over your beat in the studio session? If so, to get a good mix, whoever is mixing is most likely going to want each instrument seperated in it's own track. If you just have a bunch of waves, it will be very time consuming to arrange your beat all over again. Unless you are just going to take the vocal and bring it to your computer and mix there.

Does that make sense at all?

Im using Fruity loops to make the beats and cool edit to mix them(When I get my Equiptment)Im expecting to have vocals laid over the beats.See what I would do with FL Is mute all the channels im not using and export as wave. For example I would have just my Kicks playing and I would save that and export it as wave(1 file) then snares(2 files) so on and so forth.is that correct what im doing when doing it like that? Thanks again Coolo
