I just had the most absolutely frustrating moment yesterday. Inspiriation hits like lighting, awsome song opening idea, and it absolutely requires a church bell. Lo and behold, after searching my entire sample library, there is not one to be found. Horrors! I have a sample of a guy vomiting, but no church bell?!? Preposterous! After a failed attempt to make one from osccilators, I had to give up out of sheer frustration. My question is, is there a good site with a comprehensive selection that has free downloads of royalty free samples, just in case of situations like that?

May 24, 2004 05:59 pm Well, honestly, I feel your frustration, also, you get what you pay for...
I use the PowerFX Samples Portal linked in our main navigation...it's not free, you can browse and preview for free and buy one sample at a time.
May 25, 2004 05:55 pm Found something that will suffice for now, but thanks for the offer, CompSem. It was a learning experince, too, I mean I found this one guy who basically spent his life recording church bell sounds. From that, to this: AN ANALYTICAL RESPONSE OF CHURCH BELLS TO EARTHQUAKE EXCITATION
I mean, wow. Yeah, that you get what you pay for thing can be a problem when you have no money.

May 26, 2004 03:20 pm Wow, probably a lot better than the one I had. Thanks
