Hey!
I am using my onboard PCI soundboard midi interface with a very fast Athlon XP. I have gotten my midi latency down quite a bit, but it is still noticeable. Would I do better getting a midisport or could the problem be elsewhere?

Sep 30, 2002 09:11 pm The latency is not due to the midi interface, it is due to the audio interface. If you are using the onboard audio input's or a low quality card, this will cause that type of problem.
What program are you using to record with, and what is the sound card you are using? This info will help find the problem, and give us some info to try and help you with.
Oct 04, 2002 07:32 pm Hey,
The sound card that I am using is the PCI 128 Onboard Sound Card for the midi connection, but the audio card is a Delta 44. I am unsure which is actually producing the sounds. I was trying to use Fruity Loops to and this is when I noticed the problem. Let me know if you have any ideas, or if I should give more info!
Thanks!

Oct 05, 2002 03:00 am i don't use MIDI, but i know the Delta44 doesn't support MIDI, it's strictly digital audio. Inside FruityLoops press F10 to bring up your MIDI settings.

Oct 07, 2002 10:17 pm You need to a make sure you are using a good midi loop back program. Something like Huby's midi loop back device, I am not sure of the link to get it, but I think if you do a search online you will find it. That is possibly where your problem lie's. FruityLoop's relie's on a software device like that to tell it the exact timing, and if you are using an inferior midi loop back program it will gine the big delay you are gettin.
