i finally figured how to use the metronome in cubase SX, but the problem is...like every 4th beat varies..the first 3 will be one tone and the 4th one is accented and it really throws our drummer off, how do i fix/change this?

May 03, 2004 01:25 pm If it's like every other app with a metronome, there should be a preference setting that sets the MIDI sound that the metronome uses. Actually, it's probably beat 1 thats different, that is how they usually work...dig thru the app's preferences, it's gotta be in there somewhere.

I actually love the new nuendo click - never liked the old cubase SX one. I don't think you can stop it from accenting the audio click - but if you set up an external midi module you can drive the click that way.

May 03, 2004 02:38 pm One could easily make their own click track with a VSTi drumkit and a sidestick or closed hihat sample sample...thats what I usually do.
That said, if an accented first beat throws your drummer off, you may want to shop around for used drummers :-D

May 03, 2004 04:04 pm Ya the click track in SX is pretty flaky. I usually put together a little something in fruiy loops with just a little flavor of the tune and import it into SX.
May 04, 2004 08:25 am There is an option under Transport->Metronome Setup. Change the High/Low velocity to the same setting. Might be different wording in earlier versions, I'm using version 2.
I actually went out and spent $15 on a metronome with an output jack and feed that in since I got sick of trying to deal with the Cubase one. Works much better for me.
