i use protools 6.4 to record. ive been doing it for about a year, and just cant seem to get the eq stuff good. everything comes out sounding muddy. i want to master my mix's with soundforge because they have better eq plugins (well, better than the ones i can afford for protools). i need help to get my mixes sounding bright and clean and open, and not everything jumbled together. what eq's should i use? anything else i need to know?

oh, and you can listen to some songs ive done and kinda hear what im talking about. www.purevolume.com/texwa

One word:

Izotope Ozone 3

Okay, actually two words and a number. Ozone is a mastering plugin that deals with this. Once I started using this, I was amazed what it made my recordings sound like. Take a listen to this www.homerecordingconnection.com/m3u.php?id=282 (innocent plug for me). Without this plugin, it sounded dull.

Listened to all 3 of the songs on the website. Sounds good to me, I like this kind of music. Is there something in your mixes that sounds muddy to you?
