let me get this straight before i waste my money. if i have the delta 66 and behringer ub2442fxpro i can theoretically record 8 tracks at once(by panning ch1 and ch2 left and right and sending them out bus 1, etc.) then have 8 tracks on my computer to edit and play with??

Apr 30, 2004 04:31 am no, with a 66 you can theoretically record 6 tracks, your 66 has 4 analog ins and 2 S/PDIF ins.
May 01, 2004 09:49 pm but if you were sending two tracks/bus panned hard left and right, then once you had those 4 tracks recorded to your computer, you could split each one left and right, and have 8 mono tracks. correct?
is that what you were thinking about?

May 02, 2004 12:59 am exactly what i'm talking about.
and not only that. but it seems to me that the behringer has 8 direct outs anyway right? so can't that alone be 8 part multitracking?, not to mention the hard left/right pan then record in stereo.

May 02, 2004 01:07 am Well here's the thing. I don't know anything about that particular behringer model, but with the delta 66, it has 6 ins as described by dB. So, if I'm not mistaken, the most stereo tracks you can record at once is only 3, and the most mono tracks you can record at once is 6. Each stereo recording takes two ins (left and right). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

May 02, 2004 02:09 am well wait a minutes....
what if i set it up like this:
ch 1(hard left pan) -BUS 1
ch 2(hard right pan) -BUS 1
ch 3(hard left pan) -BUS 2
ch 4(hard right pan) -BUS 2
you get the idea.... this continues to ch 8
then send the 4 busses into the delta 66
then i could record each input in stereo in cubasis right? oh dear, maybe i'm jsut confusing myself! help!
May 02, 2004 07:28 am Coolo, the thing you have to remember about the Delta 66 is that 2 of the ins are S/PDIF, which are not always useful to some people. Only 4 of the ins are analog.

May 03, 2004 12:23 am right. Anyhow, drake, I've never dealt with busses before, but I'm assuming that if you send a left and right signal from one bus into one in on the delta 66 you still only get one mono track, not one stereo track. To record a stereo track into the delta 66 would require two inputs into the delta 66 thereby taking up two of the available four analog inputs.

May 03, 2004 12:53 am that's ashame.... i was really hoping that would work. thanks though.
anyone else have any thoughts on whether delta 66 inputs individually record in stereo?
