Apr 26, 2004 03:09 am I personally use Brain Hosting (www.brainhosting.com), they're quite good, all the extra widgets and stuff - and very helpful support (i.e. I get a response via email in about 5 minutes, which is a big help...)
Apr 26, 2004 05:29 am Define "cheap" - dB Masters hosts for $100 a year, if that is a little rich for your blood, I highly recommend HostPC. They have a $25 yearly package that is quite good, with PHP/MySQL DirectAdmin control panel, CGI, stats and mucho much more.
Apr 26, 2004 09:50 am What do you need it for? I have a co-located server with PHP/MySQL/Perl/FrontPage/JSP, email/webmail, ftp, shell access if needed and full development tools. Running with an Ensim control panel.
I had planned on reselling webspace but doing so without spending the cash to have domain registration capabilities and all that other stuff seemed useless.
I might be able to hook you up depending on what kinda of load/space requirements you need.
Apr 26, 2004 09:55 am Yeah, the server HRC is on runs Ensim too...but will likely be moving to DirectAdmin by the years end due to the lame-*** licensing changes Ensim has made...

Apr 27, 2004 10:36 pm Well right now, I'm using a local hosting company that is a reseller for A plus hosting (who I've recently read some bad stuff about, but don't know if it's actually true or not). I currently have 200mb of storage and unlimited bandwidth, and pay about $125 + registration (which they handle for me). However I don't have access to php/mysql which I will need in the coming year.
I guess our bandwidth usage right now is minimal, but we are a record label about to put out our first album, and I could see the usage jumping, but to what, I have no idea. I have about a month to figure this out, so I'll have a look around and see what makes sense for us. Thanks for the input guys.
