Umm my card supports them, and so does Sonar. How the hell do I use them instead of the WDM drivers?

It's in the audio devices configuration dialog in one of the 3 or 4 tabs in there...

I heared Sonar 3 has the direct ASIO support now, no wdm needed now, but from other point of view under Windows XP ASIO drivers are wraper for wdm! XP has only wdm, other things can't communicate directly with hardware. It's for XP stabilities.

As far as I know it's not a wrapper for anything. WDM is Microsoft's driver standard, ASIO is a third-party driver type that is supported at application level. Most any device that comes with ASIO also has WDM, which means, if, at app-level you select to use ASIO, then that application will, apps without such preferences, such as Windows system sounds, media player and low-cost audio apps will default to using the WDM or MME drivers, or, the default driver profile in the Windows Control panel.

Indeed, the ASIO in apps such as Sonar and the like do not use a wrapper for ASIO. As dB said it is supported at app level. Using another program such as a wrapper to implement the ASIO drivers would only add back to the latency ASIO brings down. That said, some cards indeed perform better with the WDM drivers as they are moer geared toward gaming. They will however emulate a higher quality driver such as ASIO which can be very unstable the same as forcing driver use in apps that cant accomodate it.
