Hi everyone,
I just discovered this forum 2 days ago and have been checking it out. There's some really helpful information in here.
I have a question. I've been using Cubase SX for a while and am upgrading from the factory (crap) soundcard to a Delta 44. I want to get a mixer to go with it, and was wondering if it is possible to record 4 tracks at once from a Behringer UB1202? I know I can get 2 tracks by panning the main sends, but is it possible to get more using the aux send? If I send a track to the aux aend, will it still come through the mains?
If it isn't possible, what would be a good inexpensive mixer to get that can send 4 seperate tracks at once (for drums) to the Delta 44?
Thanks for the help in advance,
Waz

Apr 19, 2004 08:56 am You could use the aux sends to get some more tracks, although I think they would have to be pre-fader (With the fader down or muted) or else you'd be going out the mains as well as the aux. What I would recommend is that you buy a separate 2 channel preamp to take care of the Delta's 1st 2 channels. Then the mixer can be used to run the second 2 channels if necessary and take care of the delta's output. A good, inexpensive preamp to look at for just that is the ART TPS, which is what I use for the same situation:

Or perhaps the PreSonus BlueTube (Which I have no experience with, but have heard both very positive and negative about):

With this setup you could record live drums with the snare drum and kick drum on separate tracks going through the outboard preamp and the mixer taking care of the overheads and toms, which could be mixed together using the mains as a stereo field going to the delta's last 2 outputs. This works very nicely and gives you decent flexibility in my experience. Also note that with the ART preamp you can sum two signals together (At least on the earlier models) using both the front and back inputs on each channel in case of emergency.

Apr 19, 2004 10:10 am 4 independent tracks from one mixer? modify the behringer MX802A. bar none cheapest way to go. works perfectly with the delta 44.
Apr 20, 2004 04:05 pm Yes.
for example, by panning tracks 1 and 2 seperate and using them as the main outs, and then taking say tracks 3 and 4, panning them seperated, and clicking the "MUTE ALT 3-4" button above the faders, it will effectively send those out to the "Alt 3-4 outputs" on the back, right next to the Main Outputs.
that gives you 4 seperate outs...
aaron.
Apr 20, 2004 04:54 pm I don't believe that mixer has ALT 3-4 outputs. I looked up a picture.

Apr 20, 2004 05:57 pm no, neither the UB1202 nor the MX802A have ALT 3-4.
Apr 21, 2004 08:30 am oops! sorry. I was refering to the UB1204.
my apologies.
