I'm just getting my home recording studio, and i have everything except monitors and mics. I heard Tannoy Proto J Plus monitors were very good, besides being inexpensive.
I was also wondering.. the only mic's I'm familiar with are shure's.
Should i got with an AKG or a Behringer? Any specific models? I figured 2, one for vocals and one for micing instruments. Trying to keep them around 200$ or 300$.
Help me out, here.

For a good all purpose instrument mic I still stand by the ol' Shure SM57 service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear for vocal there are many, I have heard great htings about the SM58 beta service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear as well as a few conedsor mics.

Rode NT1 service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

Rode NT2 service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

being two of them, Oktava makes some good ones...check our Gear bag section there are plenty to look into.

Hey Jues! Good to see you typing again! Long time. Wondering bout you!

And yup reiterating Jues, AKG is definately a better choice than Behringers for small diaphram condensors. Oktave makes an 012 small D. that is nice usually. Not a great amount of QC goes into those however. Most are real good. Rhode also makes an NT5 I think if I remember right that is a good small d.
