I know that there has already been a lot of discussion on this topic. But I am wondering what the final word is. I would like to spend 200-300 dollars on active near-field monitors. I realise that for this price it will be difficult to get top of the line, but will be a lot better than what I have now. I apologise for asking an already visited topic, but I was hoping to get the up to date news on what a good buy is. I would like to either:
-get new ones that offer good quality for price
-or second hand ones that are good and can be found at a good deal on ebay. Maybe in this way I can get better bang for my bucks.
I know I should go to the stores and listen to them, but since I live in Italy this is a bit difficult. Things are expensive and they rarely let you try em out. Have to get my pops to pick some up when he is in the States at the end of the month. Or grab some off ebay. So my destiny is in your hands guys..
(hey dB - maybe you should have a link to ebay since you could earn a bit there and one can always find good second hand equipment there. Also, Musician's Friend does not seem to have the FMR RNC which is a pity as I think it is considered a standard for the home studio. Have not tried it yet but it gets great reviews.)
