I know there are footpedal type samplers, hit a pedal and it plays the sample, I can't think of any off hand but I will look around and see if I can find any. Or, as flame sort of starting saying, just assign a specific key of a keyboard to trigger a sampler to play a specific sample.

Also, the option of using a PC exists as well...

Great idea ! My band did that at a show with some very shocking results (it was an acoustic-style project)... the audience looked like deer in headlights... it was beautiful . We used a Roland CDX-1 and ran it right into the board via the 'tape in'... triggered it with a finger .

Ya, but adapters can sometimes be quite noisy.

some questions...
are the samples an atmos or an integral part?
does it have stereo?
are the samples actually the backing track?

basically, i would suggest taking a sampler along, or even a laptop with a decent soundcard and just play out of there into the amp.

or use a cd player and get someone to make you the cables, shouldn't be too big a job.

hosq(and im sure alot more) makes a 1/8 stereo to 2 1/4 mono.(or to rca if that is your tape input)

no adapters needed. its just and option
