Good stuff. I thought the main vox was a little "thin" compared to the fullness of the guitar. Over all though, very nice- the first lead was quick and strong and Pop music ish- the last lead felt heavier and tougher. Nice contrast- great recording.

Thanks for the listen! Yes, after hear it again this morning I'm going to have to bring the rhythm guitar down in the mix... it is sort of washing out the lead vocal...

It is interesting you say that about the guitar solo.... the first solo was done with my Les Paul custom (a very thick full sounding guitar) and the last solo was done with my Telecaster... with the same amp(Marshall Plexi) and same settings... the Tele seemed to cut in the mix a bit more.

I used different guitars because I seem to play differently depending on the guitar I'm using.

Thanks again for the listen

Very cool song Shredfit! I'm about opposite tonyd though. :) Levels sound fine to me, the only thing off IMO is the balance between L/R, with the right channel dominating the song. I would maybe do another take of the rythm guitar and pan it to the left to balance things out. On the lead I much prefered the sound of the Les Paul, the tele sounds thin, at times almost Neil Youngish in tone. Very good job on the recording, very clean, sounds great.

ya mean besides the fact he's ugly, he's kind of a boring showman and he can't sing... ;-)

Great songwriter tho...

OldDog... you caught the left side imbalance... cool... it was panned that way on purpose... I've been listening to some of Joe Walsh stuff... "older and newer" and some tunes had that kind of panning going on... a dominate speaker if you will... again not sure if I really liked it but wanted to give it a try...

Thanks for the listen... I'm gonna change that panning and then repost ASAP....

Nothing at all wrong with Neil Young, He's one of my favorite artists but his guitar tone on leads SUCKS, though like His voice it does suit His music! LOL Not that shred's lead tone sounded like NY, there were just moments when the tone started to go away. <G>

shredfit: Well I think you could get away with the panning if you had something else on the left side that was not neccessarily playing all the time, but often enough that it helps to balance out the sound. It didn't sound bad, it's just I never really heard anything out of the left speaker unless I put my ear up to it. :)

Yep Dylan IMO is worse than Neil Young as well, but He sure wrote some great songs, and I loved the versions of His songs done by the The Byrds.

Shred, good to hear from ya again. Gave a few listen's to the new tune. Very nice, straight forward and rockin. Kinda early eightie's feel to it.

I personally like the offset rythm guitar track, but agree with the rythm level coming down a bit as it does mask the lead vocal a bit here and there. Not alot though.

Loved your wifes backing bit as well, fits nicely. I liked both solo's as well, and didnt notice the tele being thin sounding at all, it cut nicely in.

Nothing distracting at all in there, and it just rocks right along nice and steady.

And gotta agree on Bob being uglier then Neil. But Neil's voice, looks and guitar tone fit his music perfectly. It wouldnt be Neil Young without it.
