Samples of environmental sound (650 MB of them), a copy of pHATfree loop slicer plugin...and not only that, but a very flattering review for our friends at Har-Bal!

Very, very cool issue, as always, there is TONS more than what I mentioned here...101 recording tips, reviews, news and all the great usual content.

They and Future Music are the greatest for giving away tons of stuff on C.

Can you get this magazine at any major grocery store or something similar?

do you live in the states, bizzel? i think future music is a UK mag, but even in the states, borders and barnes and noble tend to carry that one as well as music tech.

I get them at Barnes and Noble. The bigger book stores carry them. dB gets Music Tech, and I am going to subsribe to Future Music as it is $12.00 US for the mag and I can get the sub for about $35.00 for the year.

If you are getting tons of stuff like samples and software with it, well, then it's worth it.

Yup, I never gripe about that. But I will take the discount and subscribe and save some dough. Both those magazines are worth it since you get 24 CD's a year with tons of samples and goodie's.

I was talking about the Music Tech Magazine. I went to their website www.musictechmag.co.uk/ and it says it costs $150 for 12 issues, lol. For that price, I could buy some of those great Ebay items we were all battling over (like the socks, or domain name, windows 3.1, etc), lol.

It costs more to ship overseas, but I will tell you, the things that magazine has taught me, the software and samples that come bundled with it, it is worth every penny. Their instructions, tutorial and advice are the best of any magazine I have personally ever read.

Plus, I have gotten some great free versions of softsynths and other software that have become very valuable to me since...you can spend your money on all the gear you want, if you don't learn how to use it it's worthless...and even harmful to your sound.

buying it issue by issue, when the urge strikes, is not a bad way to go. i find that i don't want every issue, and laying down 12 bucks every few months is...i mean, it's just cigarette money. i just think of it that way. the mag is really useful, so it's worth it.
