We need some little 88x31 type small banners for HRC...if anyone has any cool ideas, let me know...I just don't have time for graphics these days...any new 468x60's would be cool too, or any other common size.
Thanks for any help...

Mar 08, 2004 03:17 pm What do you want the banner to symbolize and illustrate?
Mar 08, 2004 03:19 pm Uuuummmm, HRC.
There are a couple banners for example toward the bottom of www.homerecordingconnection.com/supporting.php but really I just want some attractive, eye-catching banners that we can spread around. Anything design-wise is at the freedom of the designer...just have fun with it and keep it tasteful and effective, I'm easy to please :-)

Mar 08, 2004 03:21 pm do they have to be animated .gif?
Mar 08, 2004 03:28 pm No, gif or jpg, animated or not. Whatever. Just let the creative juices flow, I am trying not to micromanage the effort, just want a couple of banners in the most common banner sizes such as:
468 x 60 - Full Banner
234 x 60 - Full Banner
125 x 125 - Half Banner Square
120 x 90 - Button Banner
120 x 60 - Button Banner
88 x 31 - Micro Button Banner
120 x 240 - Vertical Banner
for example.

Mar 08, 2004 03:31 pm ok, i'll see what I can come up with later tonight. I made all the graphics at my site. tripleplatinumbeats.com
Mar 09, 2004 01:19 pm hey, I like that, thanks, I already snagged it, it should be up on the support page soon. When I get enough I want to make a totally separate "link to us" page. Thanks for the time.

Mar 10, 2004 02:04 pm Not too many because I'm still in the process of showing up in the search engines. I sell more locally outside of the website, but I know the demand is high so I'll stick with it.
Mar 10, 2004 02:07 pm With one of those "Click to Enter" type splash pages, you'll never do very good on search engines unless you buy the rankings. spiders hate those page, you need content on your front page, plus, your one link just says something generic, which they don't like either, it's best to use relevant text between the <a> and </a> tags, they then rank it better.
Seriously, tho, while the splash page looks good and all, they do nothing for search engine rankings...actually, they hurt a lot.
It's best to have 200-500 words on your front page as chock full of keywords as you can and still keep it readable, contain links to some of your important pages within, using keywords IN the links, some sort of mission statement with keyowrds in it, even with bold tags around it, cuz some like bold tags and take that text as more important.

Mar 10, 2004 02:21 pm Wow, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info.
Mar 10, 2004 02:27 pm Search Engines are programs, nothing more, nothing less, they work very logically and methodically. Learning to play them is a big task, cuz, tho they are programs, they are smart ones...and each one is different. Now that Yahoo quite using Google and started using their own Inktomi bot the game is all different...it's tough to keep up on, but it's my job to, so I have to...
