our stab at hardcore

this is one of our songs that we haven't finished yet. it actually has a strange history. we wrote it a while back, but our music has grown past it, so we're not going to be releasing it or anything, but i thought you might want to give it a listen and tell me what you think, since it's a little different from a lot of the other stuff on this site. we never wrote chorus vocal part, but just listen to it, and tell me what you think.

hey man, this is great. i love the intro riff.

your singer sounds a LOT like cedric bixler from at the drive in.

the quiet part is real nice.

well thank you man, the quiet part was supposed to be the chorus, but we were too lazy to write a chorus.

yeah we wrote this when we were listening to a lot of at the drive-in, the blood brothers, fugazi, pixies, q & not u, and some other hardcore bands. actually our other songs sound completely different, but doing this was kind of fun.

Good job on the panning-loved it. Sloopy beer drinking college tune, and oh the soft part... oh man, good stuff. alas-once agian im too old to understand the words...
"till you break it" came through thats about all i got. (im a words guy cause i cant play...)
well recorded and the end is classic. Never lose that. Shows its "real"
and welcome to hrc!

hey ug, what's your band's name? i need to name these songs for my ipod ^_^

i really liked the hardcore song, it's a shame you don't still play like that. that riff was definitely sweet, i wish i was that good at guitar hehe.

tonyd, it's really strange with a lot of bands that are harder, its almost impossible to understand them. but they're the same bands that place the most emphasis on what they're saying. you find this a lot especially in hardcore. i'm not saying our lyrics are unbelievably good or anything, but it does seem like a paradox or something.

my band's name is the blue scene. haha yeah my guitarist bassist and drummer have been playing together since around 7th or 8th grade. that was like 7 years ago, so we've really had a chance to stop sucking together. with this song, especially in the verse, we wanted to make something that was really hard and driving but bare at the same time, hence the simple snare hits and very little guitar in the first half of the verse. being the keyboard player i get to use that wonderfully cheesy synth sound with my microkorg, god i love that thing.

Very nice indeed, again I as well liked the panning and effect of the vocal treatment. simple tune and easy to listen.
