Hey all,

I was just accepted into The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences! Cool! I'll finally be exposed to some high end studio gear and learn some different techniques. I'm not sure when i will attend as there is a pretty huge waiting list but being local may give me a better chance at those last minute drop outs. We'll see.

This news combined with my wife being pregnant has made this year good so far!

thanks for letting me rant. hey, let me know what you all think of recording schools?

We have a fairly local school that does a Cubase skit that I have wanted to attend for a couple of years now. Just no time. I have always loved going to school, at least college where I have some control as to subject matter. I don't think it's wise to consider school the "end all; do all" as any good school studies what industry leaders are doing and tries to bring the crux of that back for beginners. But a good school will offer a brawder perspective than one usually gets in a single studio setting. For me any involvement is good. Even working with folks that do somewhat poorly is something to learn from. What not to do if nothing else. It seems hard for me to get too much of it, learning that is.
