Hy.
I'm using Cubase 5 VST and my soundcard is Audiophile 2496.
When I use my midi keyboard the signal comes a second late, and the sound is not clean.
I tried to adjust the latency on the audiophile control panel, but it doesn't seem to help.
could the problem be solved by installing a second soundcard?
Thanks in advance...

Feb 15, 2004 10:24 pm Do you have the most recent drivers form M-Audio. You can go to their website and down load the most recent drivers. It really sounds like you have a driver issue going if you are getting both latency and bad audio.

Feb 16, 2004 05:33 am the thing is that when i use winamp for example, i hear fine.
do you think it's still a driver issue?

Feb 16, 2004 10:59 pm Yes, winamp uses the standard windows audio output drivers. Cubase does not. It should be running in ASIO driver mode, this will help eliminate the latency and the bad audio. So yes indeed, the latest drivers are very important. they are what keep the card talking to the software.

Feb 17, 2004 06:42 am thanks. i'll try it.
Feb 17, 2004 06:54 am The latest drivers for the Audiophile, which were released in late December, do make note of a MIDI problem with pops and clicks that has been resolved, so that very well may be your problem. I know those drivers resolved some MIDI probs I had with my Audiophile.
