Dilema

Okay I got my MAudio USB Midi interface, works great.

Now for the dilema: I want to get either Fruity Loops @ $149 so I can can record my DD 55 to midi for editing, replacing samples etc, or I was thinking I might kill 2 birds with one stone and buy Sonar 3 (I'm wanting some features CEP don't have) and it can do midi probably to the extent that I need, so the cost of FL could go towards Sonar.

My midi needs will be pretty basic as I said, just some editing here and there and the ability to change the samples, so would Sonar handle that type of stuff or would I still need FL? In other words how complete is Sonar's midi support?

UM, the best. They are the company that built the first sequancing program for the modern day computer. Actually they started out with the Atari way back when. But yes it will handle pretty much all your needs and then some. You will have Audio and midi all in one big bundle and be able to work in one program for it all. There is a sampler and couple of softsynths included with Sonar 3.0 so you should be set.

Thanks Noize, think I'll go that route then. Not buying fruity, will be like $150 bucks off Sonar. :)
