Love it! Cool music, flame, db, all... very nice. I love the sound of the vocals - very John Lennony. Swan Vesta Blues is my favorite. I love the vocal line with the allusion to "When Johnny Comes Marching Home". Stylistically, it's kind of like a smoky, cool, and very British "Take a Walk on the Wild Side".
"To a Sea Far Away", wish it was a little longer - I like the song a lot. "Lock's Open", I really love the vibrato on the lead instrument, and that solo is very tasteful and minimalist. "All Gone" left me wanting more... (but it was All Gone, haha) You have some great songs here, all are excellent. They run a little on the short side, which doesn't detract from them at all, it just left me wanting a couple more minutes of music. "Always leave them wanting more" seems to be the idea here, and I guess it works, because I want more!
I'd say the time that went into this project definitely proved worthwhile! Nice job, very nice indeed. This is excellent music, and very accessible.

Yes, by all means please do copy that text. I noticed that it won't fit as-is... I hereby give you permission to cut parts of that review as you see fit for inclusion in your guestbook.

Great Job Flame! I think my favorite is Paris, I really like the chord progression and melody in this one. All Gone, was a close 2nd, both are great tracks. I'm thinking vocals have a more Julian Lennon thing goin on, smoother than the senior Lennon. :)

Really enoyed Lock Open too, nice rythm and bass going there, organ/synth part fits to a tee.

A Sea far away was an intersting one, that bit at the end really gets down there <G>

My least favorite is Swan Vesta Blues, don't know why, I think it's a good tune, but the others were more my cup of tea. :)

Great job on the vocals and acoustic on all of them. :)

oh yeah, that's in love

so, I just downloaded Lock Open, and yeah that's a really good song by my standards. I'm going to download the rest of them now. Sweet. I really like the drum part that opens the song. And a nice catchy refrain too. Yeah. I am now officially a The Flame fan.

It must be, I left a nice sized comment in there.

Flame, nice job on keeping to the sound you started with. They all fit together nicely, even Lock Open fits though it is bit more fancy then the others. I luv the new version of All Gone, but still like the original as well. Two differant flavors I guess.

I like the referance above to both Lennon's, because you do have a similar voice and that is a compliment. but it is your own voice and style that makes the tracks your own.

I have to admit it got me all tweaked out, and now I really want to mess with No Cigs and come up with something that will compliment the tune as well. Jamie and dB did splendid jobs on their parts as well.

And the site follows the minimalist approach, not painfull to visit at all. And easy to navigate as well.

Good mojo is hard to come by sometimes. And ya I agree with the kool textures Jamie, you sound like you make some stuff along the lines of my samples and textures.
