Pretty cool free audio editor...

I am currently working on my video for my next "Survivor" application, and I am notdoing it on my studio PC, but the family one. Just for a quick, light editor I downloaded "Audacity" from audacity.sourceforge.net/ and ya know what? It's actually a pretty cooll little editor for free, with the lame mp3 encoder it exports mp3's, cut copies and stuff, has built in tools to normalize and other basic operations like that...check it out if the mood strikes.

Obviously, features are limited compared to what many of us are used to using, but for free it's pretty cool.

I just had to share that...

ha haa. Good luck on the application. This last season was really the first time I watched an entire season of Survivor, and I decided to apply too. I'll probably get it done sometime in January since I'm a procrastinator, but it should be fun. I've never filmed anything before, so we'll see how it goes.

I recommend Audacity to anyone just learning. Do't forget it supports VST effects too

And for those looking for that app dB posted, the link is in our links section under freeware as SoureceForge/beatit, which is a free synth of theirs, but you can get to their home page from that link.

Wow, the more I use the Audacity the more impressed I am, hacking and splicing clips together and stuff...actually VERY cool...I just wish a lot of the tools were available via a right-click menu such as copy and pasting and such...and the mp3 export should have all the options that LAME does form command line for export quality and such.

Still, kickin tool!

Yeah, I'm aware of the deadline, but like I said, I'm a procrastinator.
