my dad recently bought a set of stageworks LG8 for home karaoke, i help him to set up everything n it's abit disappointed me, the music sound crap even play from cd, i try to play some concerts in DVD but the sound still poorer than my existin old hi-fi set. i plug in my mic (AKG D750, SM58, EV10) n its sound ok but abit lack of mid sound which my old hi-fi can easily produce..do i setup wrongly or watever way can make it sound better?

Well I did a quick search and found the unit. It is a small combo PA unit. 8 channels putting out 200 watts through a nice little set of 12" with horns speaker cabinet. I see now reason the sound shoud be bad. And at the price I saw them selling for, it better not sound like crap or I would suggest taking it back.

But that said, I would try messing with the EQ settings a bit. It looks like the unit is fairly simple as far as how much you can do with it. But I guess I would start there and work around with it. I would also suggest making sure you dont have the reverb cranked up on it as well. Since most of those smaller combo PA units do not have the best reverb on the planet.

Hope this helps a bit.

It really depends on what you want it for.
