great concept. needs some work. luckily it's all easy work:

*all the synth MIDI notes need quantized. either by fruity or by hand.

*presets need tweaked. i can tell those are presets. good start, but they need taylored to the song.

*fruity "club basic" drum kit has got to go. if you need help picking some good samples i can help you with that. i've got GBs of drums over here.

you're looking at 5 or 10 minutes of fixes and you'll have something that sounds awesome. while you're skills are still pretty amatuer sounding, i can see *alot* of potential in this kind of production from you. the notes you're choosing go together good. the song evolves so the listener doens't get bored; something dreafully neaded in this genre. i've got a feeling in a few years you're gonna be turning out some incredible shiznittle.

how about passing that flp file my way ? ;O) i want to take a look

jamie, cool sound advice. Yeah you can have the FLP file next time I see you online. What do you mean by the midi notes need to to be quantized? And yes I was using the presents. Send me some good drum samples to replace club basic. And yeah it does sound rather amature, but since i am an amature that doesn't bother me.

quantizing is word that has somehow been omitted frm our glorious glossary (i'll look into that in a minute). Basically it just mean moving the notes start and end times around so that they begin and end on a particular um.... like time or whatever. Like you can quantize to 16th notes and you notes will all scoot to the nearest 16th notes and suddenly be in time. It's the savior of anyone who enters notes with a MIDI controller.

As for samples, i'll have to get with you sometime on AIM or MSN or something. Same way we did last time, over soulseek would be easiest for me, cause we just set it up and let it xfer.

of course it'll work. you already got some snares or something off me once. remember?

to quantize in fruity, go into the pianoroll in question, and look at the far top left and there's a button that looks like a five piano keys. clikc it and choose edit and from that menu you have the option either let Fruity quantize for you or to tweak settings and junk.

i like to quantize just my note ons/starts, and then set my snap to "tick" and manually (with the mouse) move the note offs/ends around to where they sound best

soulseek won't let others download from me is what i meant, meaning i can't give you the flp files that way.
