Hy!
Does anybody by any chance has the Audiophile 2496 soundcard?
Ever since I installed it I can't hear midi at all...
I tried to change settings in the card's control panel, but it didn't work...
Thanks in advance.

alot of people here with the Audiophile. I'm not one of them :O(

But i wanted to ask: what did you hear the MIDI on before. Were you using a SoundBlaster or something else with an onboard GM synth? I don;t think the Audiophile has an onboard synth.

Tell us exactly what you *were* doing, and what youre trying to do now.

Ihave the Audiophile 2496, but I only use MIDI via virtual synths. SO, I may be wrong here, but I don't think the AUdiophile has any built in MIDI sounds either, just the ports and connections to send MIDI messages to components that do.

so if I'll connect a midi device to the audiophile, I could hear midi?
(I don't hear midi even from simple midi files I download).

if you want to ue your old soundcard's MIDI sounds, i recommend reinstalling it and using it in conjuction with the M-Audio. That's what I;m doing here; two soundcards, one for recording and the other for everything else

As I said, I amnot a big MIDI user, BUT, as I understand it you can do what Jamie suggested, which is what many folks do, or, use the Audiophile to send MIDI data to an external synth, sound module or other MIDI device and run the AUDIO outs of those devices into your mixer, sound card or whatever to here the audio that results.
