Hey fellow Gear Heads,

I am getting ready to make some additions to my setup in about 2 weeks. Of course I dont want to waste my money so I am looking for any recommendations or reviews on these pieces of gear I am gonna purchase. I need some monitors because right now I am mixing out of my headphones and my subwoofers out of my car.
I am also gonna get a preamp to run my Mic (Audio Technica 3033) and my sequencer/ DrumMachine (Yamaha RM1X) through to get the maximum output levels.
I am also looking into a Sonic Maximizer. I hear they work wonders on the kind of gear I am recording my music from.
These are the brands I am looking at, Please if I am going in the wrong direction turn me in the right one.

Preamp-Art Tube MP Studio
Monitors-Hafler M5 Nearfield monitors
Maximizer-BBE Sonic Maximizer
Nady MSE-100AMultiband SoundEnhancement
Behringer EX3200 Ultrafex Pro
Tube Ultrafex T1954
I am trying to choose from one of these Maximizers
I really thank you guys for all of your help, Id be lost without it.

Hi skandl,
I just bought a pair of M-Audio Studiophile SP-8B
monitors. I have heard good comments and read pretty good reviews about them.
And right now Muisician's Friend is selling them for just us $299.
Two days ago the price was us $479, I think it's a good oportunity since
us $299 is the price of their little brothers, the Studiophile SP-5B.

Good luck!!

I don't suppose you were kind enough to buy them through one of our links, were ya? I don't see it logged...anyway, here's do links if you care to help support us:

SP-8B: service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

SP-5B: service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

And yes, the 8B's are currently under web special for 299!!!!! That is exactly the current price of the 5B's!

I bought them this morning.
Going to MF from the link in this site is the way to go isn't it?? I mean this is the way to suport this community.
I have bought all my gear this way since I joint to this community, or at least I think I have. Please tell me if I'am wrong and if so, wich is the way to go cause I'd be glad to do it.

Thanks dB!!

Hey Sonico, I have used the BBE unit's for year's. And I still own 2 of them, which are older but are still current. An 822A and a 422A, and I use them mostly for transfering vinyl to HD, but I also use them for pumping up mp3's and the like, and adding life to old cassette tape's and such.

So bottom line, get the BBE unit.
