Hi, I have an akai mpc2000xl with 8 outputs and I wanna know how do I set it up as the master with a synth(novation KS4)a multitracker and a mixer and a pair of active monitors, what plugs into where??? Thanks

Oct 14, 2003 11:01 pm I'm not sure what you mean by the master. I'm assuming you would want to plug the synth, and the MPC into the mixer, and then, the mixer into the multitracker. You can probably hook up the monitors to either the multitracker or the mixer. Depending on the multitracker, you may be able to skip the mixer altogether.
Oct 15, 2003 12:51 am he wants to sync them up so they play at the same time. something to do with MIDI clock or word clock something - i don't know anything about MIDI. i'm surprised nobody has popped in and answered this.

Oct 15, 2003 01:11 am I want the synth to be the slave as I am going to use the sequencer of the mpc. Im just not sure where everything plugs in and in what order?

Oct 15, 2003 01:12 am Oh, I've never worked with an MPC before. Didn't even know it was capable of controlling MIDI. Guess I'm no help.

If you want the mpc to control the synth, look for MIDI out on the mpc. Then plug the MIDI cable to MIDI in on the synth. There will probably be an option on the synth to allow for an external controller (I'm assuming it's a keyboard synth?).
