CAKEWALK ????

Help I'm stuck in Utah!!!!!!!!!

I used to get playback through my computer when I recorded. The Metronome would click and I could hear what I recorded, now I can't hear neither. after I record a track I can go back and listen to it but, I can't hear it during Recording??? Please Help.

I would guess it's in your sound card configuration. Your profile said you record on a Tascam 4-track, so I guessit's a littel outof date.

Depending on the sound card you have, you will have to look in either Cakewalk's audio devices config or your sound card config to get the monitoring set up properly.

It's a new Laptop w/ XP I have never had any playback on this one no click track or recording sound except when I play it back after recording

if you've just recently installed cakewalk on a new machine you need to run the wave profiler (i think that's what it's called) and that will automatically scan your system and attempt to select the best audio settings it can determine.

as for the click track, i know mine can select between either PC speaker (beep) or midi, and i usually have mine set to midi so my soundblaster plays it back as a hihat while my Delta 44 does all recording. but then again i have the old Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 which was before Sonar.

if you've already run the profiler then it must be something with the onboard soundcard. if you can't work it out perhaps you should look into a USB soundcard designed especially for recording?
