Okey... I know I've asked this before but how does midi work, what is it? Anyone know of a website that will teach me midi? I know that it's a language (kinda) that tells synths and sound modules what sounds to make, but it also can be used as a controller? I'm very confused on this topic. heh. All I know is when I think of MIDI I think of those cheezy downloadable kareoke things...

Well you would be totally wrong. You are right as far as MIDI being control, but it is way more. Note on/off, control change, program change, velocity, after touch, and many more that I won't list. I gave someone a list a while back of book's on MIDI, I will look it up and post them again for you, and maybe a quick tutorial again.

Yup, all MIDI is is cumputer data, just 1's and 0's getting sent over that MIDI cable and the MIDI devices tell each other what to do, when to do it, how fast, loud and what side of the stereo to do it on.

Which is why you can fit many MIDI songs on a floppy and not one complete audio song on one...MIDI is just simple binary code.
