I feel like doing something fun

That "i'm gonna list 10 albums" thread got me thinking. I think I'd like to try and write something, a whole CD perhaps, that's meant to be played along with another existing CD. Kinda like the Neurosis and Tribes or Neurot (neurosis' "alter egos") discs that can be played simultaneously and they go together, or kinda like the Darkside of Oz if you know what that is (never tried it myself)

I want to write something that goes along with an exhisting CD, so it would have to be something fairly minimal to sound right. Or maybe I'm just loosing it. it's something I'd have to give some thought.

it'd be fun though.

I have always wanted to try it...never have though, it seems a bit far-fetched to me, but then, we ARE talking about Pink Floyd here...

Jamie, I have heard that stuff, and its pretty amazing how well it works. Two completely differant pieces that when played alone sound as they would not fit together, but when played in sync is very kool indeed.

dB, I've done the Dark side of Oz thing and its pretty scary how well it fits. Some beers and a DVD and CD and were off. We'll have to get together and do that, it will blow your mind.

Tony, try Nektar - Remember the Future. The whole disc is a story of self discovery, but in a very spacey trippy kind of way.

Forty, todays technology makes it easy to sync anything digital up. I know several DJs who use dual CD and Vinyl rigs run through a laptop and its pretty amazing what they can do and mix together.

If you like the Dark side of Oz, try this...

Get Nightmare before christmass and Tool's "Undertow"

Synch it up so that the music starts exactly when the pumpkin's nose turns in the beginning.

It's pretty cool.
