oh wow. i guess you'd treat it as a wind instrument? Try your condensor. Move it back a few feet to capture more of the room sound maybe? ::shrugs:: :O)

Loki, if ya really want to record em live use 2 condensors placed about 2 feet from the bagpipe itself. Just in front and off to the side. You may have to move them around a little to accomadate the room but you should find a suitable arrangement easily.

And yes, I do own a Proteus 3 World. So if ya want I can wip out a couple of samples for ya. Be warned though, I am leaving Early Sundy morning 5:00AM for scout camp and will be gone a week. I may be pressed for time but could try to wip em out before I go. Let me know if you want them and Ill give it a try to get em done pronto.

This is sort of on the edge of this topic, but I think worth mentioning. I was in Edinburgh about a year and a half ago and while there saw a street performer playing bagpipes. Obviously not too surprising. What I thought was interesting was that the guy was Asian and spoke with an American accent! It was like a character out of a Kurt Vonnegut novel. I had to give him a couple of pounds.

What's the difference between a set of bagpipes and an onion?

Ouch... Man, you guys :) What's so bad about bagpipes? They sound so awesome in my opinion.
