Jul 27, 2003 11:33 am In addition to those flame mentioned, soundclick.com is a good one, and then there is mp3.com.
Unless you want to spend some money promoting your songs and go for the premium membership mp3.com probably isn't a real good choice.
Soundclick is probably the best of the ones I know of in terms of traffic, and not needing to spend any money (though that option is available).

Aug 03, 2003 05:10 pm I wouldn't go the mp3.com route, it is expected that they will be folding into bankruptcy before too long.
Aug 03, 2003 05:12 pm don't forget IUMA.com - it's free too

Aug 03, 2003 11:04 pm Yeah I read about mp3.com's problems after posting that. From the sounds of it though looks like someone will probably buy them out since the US operation is generating "substantial revenue" according to the article I read. Guess it will all depend on how much Vivendi try's to get for it.
Aug 04, 2003 05:07 am Yes, a few branches ofthe operation is expected to shut down, which means it will get worse, since they will have less servers online unless they move them to the US.
Also, their better revenue stream started by changing the terms of service for the users, giving free members many restrictions, adding more advertisments and things like that which is starting to drive people away.
Ya get what you pay for ultimately.
