I had trouble getting edited tracks back into Cubase, but all I had to do to open a track in Wavelab was double-click it in Cubase. Maybe somewhere there's an option for what program to use as your default .wav editing software.

My version of Cubase came with Wavelab Lite, so it was probably already set up to use it.

I use Sonar, but there is an editing option in Sonar to open a track in various programs that it finds on your PC, I would have a hard time believingthereis not some simple options like that in Cubase. Go through the preferences of the application (or the user manual that comes with Cubase) and look around, I am quite confident there is a place to set up a wave editor to open tracks in.

Also, I think you are saeriously missing the terminology of what "mastering" is. Nobody "masters" one track at a time. that would be mixing. Mastering, by definition is the act of finalizing your complete mix and preparing it for replication and distribution.

theres an external wave editor option somewhere in the options of cubase that will allow you to edit tracks in whatever app you like...cant remember exactly where though, cos im not using it right now...

"I wanna master each tracks in wavelab"

Right then - you need to mix down the entire file into a single stereo wav master. Here's how you go about this procedure.

Move the loop points (The blue bar along the "time line" which determins the selection) to engulf the entire track from start to end (allowing for any reverb tails, delays, etc that will continue at the end).

Click on the "File" menu and select Export

Export a Stereo Interleaved Wave file with the relevant Bit depth and Sampling Rate variables set.

This wav file can then be opened into Wavelab and you can conduct your mastering - when complete, save the file - you can then import it back into SX as you would normally

jues.
