hey i have a really old sm57 and a brand new one....the old one says SHURE BROTHERS INCORPORATED MODEL SM57 UNIDYNE III (3) DYNAMIC...and then it has a circle with a cross threw it...but the new one says SHURE SM57 DYNAMIC LO Z (with "-" threw it) and then instead of a circle with cross it has a upsidedown heart type thing... is there any difference between the 2 sm57? if there is what is the difference thanks

I could be wrong, but I think the only real difference is the markings. From what I know of them, the SM series has stayed pretty much the same. But, I am sure if I am wrong that someone here will know. lol

Ya, I don't think there is a difference either, not positive though...both are lo-z dynamic mics, so they are pretty similar, they probably just changed the packaging.

Double checked the mic's and they are both the same. It hasn't been changed in many year's other then cosmeticly.
