WAV files to Mp3 on BR1600CD

I am trying to transfer wav files to my PC from a BR1600CD to a PC. I have the manual for the recorder but anyone who has a manual knows it can be difficult to interpret much less read!
I have Windows 10 which the manual does address specifically. I get to a point where it doesn't make sense to me. For instance, a message says "writing" after I selected "Export" Where is it writing to? The computer? It then connects to the PC and has a message "Copy 1 wav file in BR1600CD's USB Folder to computer." Under that statement is reads "BR1600CD" on one side and "Computer" on the other side. There is no question mark to select Yes or No. Am I to select or move on the computer? Prior to the above message on the recorder, a window opens on the PC monitor listing all the files.

I would appreciate someone explaining and pointing me in the right direction. Thanks!

I can't see much info about this bit of kit on amazon, can I assume there is a USB out that hooks up to your PC? If so, one can assume it is writing to your computer if it says so...one other way, that might be a bit of overhead, is writing to the CD, and putting the CD in your computer and transfering that way.

I realize this likely isn't too much help, but based on what I can find quickly, it's about the best I have without further research.

Ah, just saw a bit more, yes, it appears there is a USB out, and it appears that it will write directly out to your computer, so, following the prompts should do the trick?
