Cubase VST help needed....
It seems some vst instruments expect a stereo output while cubase le5 only seems to support vsts with mono output? Is this correct?

if so, is there a work around other than buying the full cubase?

I read somewhere that you can work around it by assigning a vst instrument to a midi track but that doesn't seem right as the instrument will still expect a stereo output?

thanks much for any support!

I haven't used Cubase in a decade, but even back then I used stereo VST's as I recall, the ability has to be in there somewhere. If that is an LE limit, that is a really odd place to enforce a limit!

But then, I always used VST's as a MIDI instrument, so I likely wouldn't be of much help. :-(

I'm not much help here either. I use Reaper, and haven't touched Cubase LE since the early-mid 2000's. I wonder if the limitation is that LE won't let you create a stereo track or something. In my experience, you just create a track, plonk the VST/i into it, and it should automatically rout all outputs to the master channel. Cubase might take a bit more fiddling around with the track parameters, though.

But then again, I also strictly use midi input for VST instruments. And yeah, you're probably right, it wouldn't matter if the track was audio or midi; the VSTi would probably route its outputs the same way.

Every DAW has its quirks. At this point, I'd suggest spending some time with the manual and the help guides. I don't have much to add, I'm afraid.
